My art focuses on the theme of childhood, destinations, and interesting concepts. There are two mediums I mainly work with which is paintings and photography. Painting is my way of expressing emotions through a specific concept that relates to what's goes on in my life. Realism is the form in which I use a photo reference to create artworks, it's a technique I use the most. When it comes to producing a painting making it look as realistic as possible is one of my criteria’s. I want viewers feel as though they can reach out and touch the image in their hands. Im able to take inspiration from other artists such as Georgia O’Keeffe, Elizabeth Marry, and Ramon Bruin. When taking inspiration from these artists I look for abstract design and detailed backgrounds that would match the art styles I want to portray. The same can be said when it comes to my photography. Debbie Fleming Caffery is a photographer that I’ve recently came to know for her amazing book on black and white photography. Her work consists of portrait photography and spaces in unknown locations. It’s because of these reason's that my photography takes me to find interesting ideas or places to photograph whether it be in my community or through traveling to different areas. Currently instead of focusing on digital photography I hope to explore more of film photography. It’s interesting to be able to work in only black and white vs color to create cleaner cut look for my photos. This is a little glimpse into the type of art I create in a various form of mediums.
